Hi, I’m Gabrielle, the artisan and curator behind Crunchy Cria.

Some people find peace in the forest or at the beach. I find mine elbow-deep in fleece. I love the feel of the soft crimp of alpaca fiber between my fingers, the wind caressing my skin, and the birdsong that accompanies me as I work.

I believe every fleece has a story worth honoring. Each one is thoughtfully transformed in small batches, with deep respect for the animals, the land, and the traditional fiber arts. From raw fleece to finished skein, every step is an invitation to slow down, work with intention, and preserve the fiber’s unique character.

Alongside creating by hand, I thoughtfully curate fibers, tools, and handcrafted goods that embody the spirit of Crunchy Cria. Each piece is selected for its quality, its story, and its connection to animals, the land, and the enduring traditions of fiber craft.

Whether made by my hands or chosen from a fellow artisan, everything offered here is meant to inspire slower, more meaningful creating.

From pasture to heirloom, my hope is that every skein and fiber creation carries a little of the peace, wonder, and wild beauty from where its story began. And that, when it reaches your hands, you feel a little of that magic too.
